1. Hwy. 290 Project G

Collector-distributor lanes running parallel to the Hwy. 290 mainlanes are projected to open in 2016. The new lanes will provide drivers separate roads to enter and exit the highway. Westbound Hwy. 290 ramps connecting to north- and southbound lanes of the Sam Houston Tollway will be closed through 5 a.m. March 7 as crews work on the segment.

2. Telge Road widening

The five-segment widening project will expand the road from two asphalt lanes to four concrete lanes between south of Little Cypress Creek and FM 2920, including widening the bridge over Spring Cypress Road. The planned improvements are in the study phase and will be completed in five segments. Construction on the project is not likely to start until 2017.

3. Hwy. 290 Project E

Construction is ongoing on the direct connector from northbound Hwy. 6 to Hwy. 290 eastbound. Work is projected to start in March or April on a four-lane Hwy. 6 overpass over Hwy. 290 from Copper Grove Boulevard to North Eldridge Parkway.

4. Huffmeister Road widening

The two-lane road widening project at Huffmeister Road between Skinner Road and Meadowside Park is under construction. The existing two-lane asphalt road will be upgraded to a four-lane concrete boulevard, and construction is expected to be complete this spring.
