1. Gosling Road segments 2, 3
Segments 2 and 3 of the Gosling Road widening project, from Mossy Oaks Road to West Rayford Road and from West Rayford Road to Creekside Forest Drive—respectively—are in the study phase. Engineering will determine the alignment and whether the road will be expanded to four or five lanes. The timeline of the project is dependent on the passage of Harris County’s bond referendum on Nov. 3.

2. Aldine Westfield Road widening
Harris County is widening Aldine Westfield Road from two lanes to four lanes from East Louetta to Riley Fuzzel roads. Utility relocations have begun and Bio Landscaping, the clearing contractor, is finalizing the right of way clearing. The Commissioners Court is expected to approve a contract to the lowest bidder, Allgood Construction Company, on
Sept. 15. Once approved, the contractor will begin finalizing utility relocations.

3. Gosling Road Segment 1 widening
The final design has been completed on the first segment of the Gosling Road expansion between Spring Stuebner and Mossy Oaks roads. Harris County sent the project for bidding Aug. 28.
Right of way clearing and utility relocation have begun. The bidding and awarding of the contract will take 90-120 days to complete. The project will widen the roadway from two lanes to a five-lane pavement roadway between Spring Stuebner Road and the Grand Parkway and to four lanes between the Grand Parkway and Mossy Oaks Road.

4. Gosling Road bridge addition
A joint partnership between The Woodlands Road Utility District and Harris and Montgomery counties, the three transportation entities plan to add a second bridge to Gosling Road over Spring Creek, expanding the road over the creek from two to four lanes. The project is in the study phase and funding for Harris County’s portion of the project is dependent on the passage of the county’s bond referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot.

5. The Grand Parkway segments F-1, F-2 and G
Contractor Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders continues work on segments F-1, F-2 and G of the Grand Parkway, Houston’s third outer loop. The segments stretch from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59. Several lanes and ramps are closed for construction. Closures for the summer include the I-45 northbound exit at Spring Crossing Drive and the Hardy Toll Road, the I-45 northbound frontage road left lane at Spring Stuebner Road and the I-45 northbound right shoulder from the Spring Stuebner Road entrance ramp to exit No. 72. 6. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road Segment 1 widening
Contractor Menade Inc. continues construction on the widening of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard section. Segment 1 spans from just south of Spring Cypress Road north to Hollow Glen Lane.
