Hubert received 13,836 votes, or 45.2 percent, over Hamilton, who received 9,876 votes, and Millsaps, who received 6,753 votes, according to the Montgomery County elections office.

Skeeter said he is eager to get started and wants to deliver on campaign promises he made to local residents.

"I am excited, I am ready to get to work," Skeeter said. "We have been making a lot of promises out there and now it is time to fulfill those promises that I have made. I am ready to go. Let's get to work."

Skeeter said his first order of business includes securing funding for future schools and transportation issues.

"Getting up to speed with where we are with new schools and the possibility of a school bond on the November ballot for next year," Skeeter said of his plan. "I know that has been one of the biggest concerns districtwide. I would focus on that and focus on transportation issues as well."
