Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show, Rodeo and Parade

The 71st annual rodeo is the primary fundraiser for agriculture students in

Katy ISD. The nightly rodeo features professional riders. There is a community parade on Feb. 22, followed by the livestock auction.

Pin Oak Charity Horse Show

For about two weeks each year, the Great Southwest Equestrian Center hosts the area's most prominent equestrian show. The annual show and fundraiser has been taking place since 1947.

Folk Life Festival

Visitors can see what life was like in the pioneer days of Texas. The Katy ISD Outdoor Learning Center plays host to recreations of life in the 1800s, including demonstrations of blacksmithing, cheese making, pioneer cooking and crafts.

City Christmas tree lighting and Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas

Dec. 6 10 a.m.– 8 p.m. Free

Area residents peruse crafts, antiques, produce, jewelry and gifts during the day and stay for the official city of Katy Christmas tree lighting at night. Kids can visit with Santa and play in 20,000 pounds of fake snow.
