Whether a customer is a teenager keeping up with the latest fashion trends or a grandmother looking to update her look, Fischer & Aniston offers something that fits their sensibilities and budget.

"I don't make commission on anything, so if I put somebody in something, I want them to look good and feel good," manager Kelly Kruger said. "I want them to feel comfortable in their own [skin]."

Open for more than a year, the Fischer & Aniston boutique offers a wide array of women's clothing and accessories.

"We go from high-end to affordable, [as well as] fun and trendy things," Kruger said.

Although the store showcases clothing for teens as young as 15, Kruger said the store can accommodate customers in their 60s, as well. She said the friendliness of the staff and their ability to help customers try new fashions sets the retailer apart from other boutiques.

"You have people come in and feel a little bit more insecure about their style when we get up in their 40s," Kruger said. "We try to suggest to them to try things they wouldn't have normally tried on, and they end up getting a lot of compliments. Sometimes it takes someone else telling them that they look good."

Like most fashion retailers, Kruger said the store tries to keep up with the seasonal fashions and hottest trends. She said the store's staff constantly makes changes within the store to highlight different fashions and different combinations of apparel that work together. Kruger said the store's staff studies the latest fashion trends but are also aware of their customers' preferences.

"It's all about the customer, and if you don't pay attention to that, you're not going to make it," she said.

Fischer & Aniston also sells accessories, including jewelry, candles, belts, scarves and handbags, as well as home dcor items and gifts, such as candlesticks, clocks, crosses, picture fames, mirrors and rugs.

The owner, Tanya Leach, opened the boutique in May 2012.

"[Leach] has such a fashion sense for clothing and so much excitement for [fashion]," Kruger said. "She's a major entrepreneur and she has several businesses going. She's a major workhorse."

The store sells all of its items online, Kruger said, and online sales make up about 30 percent of business. Fischer & Aniston will also begin offering custom upholstered furniture early next year, including sofas, chairs and ottomans.

Kruger said she and other staff can provide home decorating advice in addition to fashion tips.

"There's not a place in The Woodlands that has it all, so we're trying to move to a store that offers everything," Kruger said.
