With 86 of 90 precincts reporting, Republican U.S. Rep. Pete Olson beat Democratic opponent Kesha Rogers 158,651 - 78,808, or 64.1 percent, in the race for U.S. House District 22, according to unofficial results.

Libertarian Steven Susman has 5,872 votes and Green Party candidate Don Green has 3,990 votes.

Two years ago, Olson defeated Rogers with 67 percent of the vote. In 2008, Olson unseated Democratic incumbent Nick Lampson with 52.4 percent.

"We are thrilled to have another two years in Congress," Olson said.

He said he was disappointed that President Obama wom re-election, but vowed to work with people on both parties to get the job done.

"I will work with an open mind as I have from day one," he said.

Olson is a former Navy pilot who was transferred to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1994. The next year he became a naval liaison officer to the U.S. Senate. Sen. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, made Olson a legislative aide in 1998. Four years later, Sen. John Cornyn appointed him as his first Chief of Staff.

Rogers billed herself as a LaRouche Democrat and campaigned with the slogan "Save NASA; dump Obama." Rogers earned her BA in political science and speech communications in 2001 from Texas State University.
