Final results have been posted for Montgomery County elections, with all 86 precincts reporting.
Longtime county judge Fred Edwards has unofficially lost his seat in the 9th Judicial District to Kelly W. Case. Case received 19,142 votes to Edwards' 18,328 votes.
In the 418th Judicial District race, Tracy Gilbert handily defeated Jessica Siegel. Gilbert earned 27,787 votes, while Siegel could manage only 9,327 votes.
Incumbent District Attorney Brett Ligon will retain his seat by earning 64.7 percent of the vote (26,183 votes), more than Tracy Pullan's 20.9 percent (8,473 votes) and Gilbert G. Garcia's 14 percent, or 5,720 votes.
With no candidate receiving more than 50 percent of the vote, there will be a run-off for the Republican representative for County Attorney. Phyllis Rainey (33.5 percent) and JD Lambright (38.8 percent) will face off in the July 31 run-off election. Gary Beauchamp finished third with 27.6 percent of the vote.
The district and county attorney officials each serve four year terms.
The sheriff, tax assessor-collector and county chairman will retain their seats for the upcoming term and are running unopposed. Tommy Gage will remain sheriff for the next four years. The tax assessor-collector position will continue to be held by J.R. Moore, Jr. for the next four years. Walter D. "Wally" Wilkerson, Jr. will keep his position as county chairman.
All of the attorney office candidates, as well as the sheriff, tax assessor-collector and county chairman positions are Republican and are not facing a Democrat opponent.
