Construction is moving forward on a series of New Caney High School athletics facilities projects, said Scott Powers, New Caney ISD’s executive director of public relations, in a May 12 email.

The projects are funded by the district’s $695 million bond package, which was approved by voters in May 2023.

According to NCISD’s website, the projects are part of a larger $32 million project, and include:
  • A softball field
  • A baseball field
  • Tennis courts
  • A football/soccer field with a track
  • A covered multipurpose area with turf
  • Two field houses
Construction is slated to wrap up this summer on the softball and baseball fields, which have already been used by students this spring, Powers said.

Construction is expected to kick off this summer on the football/soccer field with a track, which is expected to cost $21 million, as previously reported by Community Impact. Construction is expected to be completed on this project by the fall of 2026, Powers said.
