What parents should know
Kindergarten enrollment will be open for children who will turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, according to a post from NCISD about the event. Pre-K enrollment will be open for children who will turn 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, and meet criteria such as:
- The student is homeless
- The student can’t speak or comprehend English
- The student is or has been in foster care in Texas
- The student is eligible for the national free and reduced lunch program
- The student’s parent is an active member of the U.S., state or reserve armed forces
According to the event posting, the registration events will be held at Randall Reed Stadium’s Community Room—21360 Valley Ranch Parkway, New Caney—on the following dates:
- April 1, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- April 2, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
According to NCISD, parents and guardians will need to bring a form of ID for themselves as well as the following documents to the registration events:
- Proof of residency
- The child’s social security card and birth certificate
- Legal or custody documents
- The child’s immunization records
- Pre-K income qualifications such as pay stubs
