Bus drivers at New Caney ISD will see a $0.25 raise to their hourly rate for the 2025-26 school year after the district’s board of trustees approved a new compensation package March 17.

In a nutshell

The new hourly pay for NCISD bus drivers will be $18.90, said Scott Powers, NCISD’s executive director of public relations, via a March 19 email. The 2025-26 compensation plan also included bumps to some employee stipends.

“The district could potentially adjust the compensation plan depending on the outcome of the legislative session later this spring,” Powers said.

NCISD’s board of trustees approved the 2025-26 compensation plan under the March 17 meeting consent agenda, which is made up of multiple items voted on in one motion.
