Construction on the $70 million project is expected to begin on or after April 25 and wrap up by April 2027, according to a Jan. 28 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The campus will span 215,100 square feet.
In May 2023, voters approved a $695 million bond package that included plans to build two unnamed middle schools, as previously reported by Community Impact. Highlands Elementary will open for the 2025-26 school year as a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Year Program.
