Puerto Rican and Caribbean eats will be served from Chachi’s House, a new restaurant opening at The Food Zone Grand Texas, owner Zulma Bermudez confirmed April 11. The business will serve “Puerto Rican country food” including Guandules rice—flavorful rice with pigeon peas—and pork cut from a whole, slow-cooked pig.

Bermudez said Chachi’s House will honor recipes she learned while cooking with her grandmas and aunts, and feature flavors that were passed down through her ancestry. She said she named her business in honor of the nickname her nieces and nephews gave her when they were young.
