TOMAGWA Healthcare Ministries is offering free immunizations to health sciences students at Lone Star College-Tomball regardless of their insurance coverage, LSC-Tomball announced in a press release Aug. 20. TOMAGWA, in partnership with Tri-County Health Alliance, is offering hepatitis B; chickenpox; measles, mumps and rubella; Tdap; tuberculosis; flu and other immunizations at no cost.
“The college and TOMAGWA have always worked closely together in creative ways to facilitate access to both medical services and quality health science education,” Dr. Megan Mariveles, dean of the Health and Sciences Division at LSC-Tomball, said in the release. “We are grateful for this opportunity for our students. TOMAGWA has removed a potential barrier for students who might otherwise not have been able to pursue their goal of becoming a healthcare professional.”
Immunizations will be available at TOMAGWA locations in Tomball and Magnolia throughout both the fall and spring semesters, according to the release. In Tomball, immunizations are available Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-noon and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 435 School Street, Ste. 30. Students can receive immunizations in Magnolia at 18230 FM 1488 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m.
Students must present their LSC-Tomball ID when receiving their immunizations. To schedule an appointment, students may call 281-357-0747.
