Trump’s executive order could help support high-speed rail from Houston to Dallas

Texas Central, the $12 billion high-speed rail train from Houston to Dallas, is on President Donald Trump’s list of infrastructure projects that could receive support during his term, according to the McClatchy Washington Bureau. Trump’s team is looking at airports, highways and other infrastructure projects.Texas Central claims the high-speed rail could safely deliver passengers 50 minutes faster than an airplane and 70 minutes faster than a car.

Road repairs in begin in Kingwood

The city of Houston’s Public Works and Engineering Department will begin repairs today on concrete panels located near the Lake Houston Family YMCA on the 2400 block of West Lake Houston Parkway. Road closures are expected intermittently until the project is completed in early February on the left southbound lane and right northbound lane.

Astrodome receives support from Texas Historical Commission

Harris County Judge Ed Emmett’s office announced last week that the Texas Historical Commission designated the Houston Astrodome as a state antiquities landmark, paving the way for legal protections with its new status. The designation means Harris County must consult with and receive permission from the Texas Historical Commission before pursuing significant alterations. IAH updates its dining options

United Airlines and OTG announced plans Tuesday to open eight new Houston-inspired eateries by the second half of 2017 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
