Celebrating the one-year anniversary of Beehive Boutique and Garden, owner Kristy Lund will be hosting a fall festival at her business on Oct. 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The event is free to attend and will feature a Halloween costume contest at 2 p.m., a live mural artist, food trucks, a maze and a pumpkin patch.
Lund’s business, located at 20334 Hwy. 59 in New Caney, originally opened on Oct. 3, 2020, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She and her daughter-in-law, Amber Webb, opened the business—which sells clothing, jewelry, bath items and Texas native plants—together, according to the company’s website.
Opening a business amid the pandemic has posed challenges, Lund said, but the community has been supportive.
“We are locals supporting locals,” Lund said. “The year 2020 was bad enough, and I think people just want to get out of the house and check out something unique.”
