With COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations increasing in the Houston area, at least three viral testing sites will be open across the Lake Houston area the week of June 15.

A new testing site opened in the Walmart parking lot in the Fall Creek area June 12, according to a June 11 news release from Pierpont Communications Inc. The site—a partnership between Walmart and eTrueNorth—is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7-9 a.m. at 9235 N. Sam Houston Parkway E., Humble.

Appointments must be scheduled at http://doineedacovid19test.com, and individuals can call 800-635-8611 with questions. The test will be self-administered but supervised by trained medical volunteers, according to the release.

Additionally, Harris County Pubic Health will open a free COVID-19 testing site June 15 at Humble ISD's George Turner Stadium at 1700 Wilson Road, Humble. The site was originally scheduled to open June 8-10, but it was canceled because the district was deep cleaning Humble High School, which shares property with Turner Stadium, district officials said.

The Turner Stadium site will be open June 15-18 and June 19 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., according to Joe Stinebaker, the director of communications for Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle’s office. Community members can complete an assessment at the
HCPH website or by calling 832-927-7575.

Meanwhile, the Houston Health Department partnered with the Texas Division of Emergency Management to open a COVID-19 mobile testing site at Kingwood Park Community Center from June 8-13. The testing site has been extended to remain open June 15-20, according to a June 12 newsletter from Houston Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin's office.

Community members must make an appointment before visiting the site by visiting https://txcovidtest.org or calling 512-883-2400. The site, located at 4102 Rustic Woods, Kingwood, is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
