Humble City Council voted Jan. 25 to approve two expenditures totaling $169,900 to fund sinkhole repairs and concrete barriers.

Humble City Manager Jason Stuebe said a 24-inch storm sewer collapsed in the North Hollow area during efforts to repair two lines of the storm sewer on Pine Hollow and Cypress drives. The council-approved $150,000 allotment will go toward repairing the sinkhole.

Also on the agenda

Council also approved spending an additional $19,900 on a concrete barrier along the downtown parking lot renovation area. Stuebe noted a larger money request would be made at the next meeting—scheduled for Feb. 8—regarding changes to the scope of the project.
