What's happening?
The Lake Houston Farmers Market will host a farmers market on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Walden on Lake Houston Country Club. Wertman noted the change in location was necessary as the market had outgrown its previously location at the Lake Houston Brewery.
"I have been a resident in the Walden community for 20 years and with the recent ownership change taken on by Janet and Dan Huberty, they will be graciously hosting us," Wertman said.
Wertman noted the market will feature the same vendors offering seasonal farm-fresh produce. However, the new venue will also allow market attendees to visit the country club's on-site restaurant and full bar, as both the farmers market and country club are open to the public.
Meet the owners
The Lake Houston Farmers Market is managed by JG Events, which is owned by Timothy and Krystal Wertman—longtime farmers market vendors as The Jelly Girl. JG Events founded the In A Pickle Festival in 2018, and recently gained management of Kingwood Town Center's heritage events, including the upcoming Mardi Gras Festival and Parade on March 1.
In case you missed it
The Lake Houston Farmers Market will debut at its second location—the Bel Furniture parking lot in Humble—on March 22. Weekly farmers markets will be hosted every Saturday in this location from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
