Lone Star College-Kingwood selects new president

Lone Star College-Kingwood selected Melissa Gonzalez to serve as its new president, according to an April 12 press release.

Gonzalez currently serves as president of Houston Community College Southeast and has served as vice chancellor and chief of staff. She has held a variety of other positions in higher education, including vice president, special assistant to the president, associate professor and adjunct faculty member.


“I am honored and humbled to be asked to serve as the next president of Lone Star College-Kingwood,” Gonzalez said. “I thank Chancellor Head and all the members of the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees for the trust they have given me to serve as their next president.”

Gonzalez's first day will be June 1.
