New Caney ISD’s board of trustees will consider naming the finalist for its superintendent search at its March 15 board meeting.
On its agenda the board has the item “Consider and Discuss the Naming of Lone Finalist for the Position of Superintendent of Schools.” The board will first discuss the matter in closed session before voting on it at the end of the meeting.
The superintendent position was left open Nov. 16, when former Superintendent Kenn Franklin resigned after 11 years of service to the district. He was later booked at the Montgomery County Jail and charged with aggregate theft by a public servant, a third-degree felony, and tampering with a government record, which is a state jail felony.
Matt Calvert has served as interim superintendent since Franklin’s resignation. The job was posted in mid-January and continued until Feb. 12, at which point the board began interviewing candidates.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Randall Reed Stadium, 21360 Valley Ranch Parkway, New Caney.
