Sisters Tammy Huynh and Julie Vo opened V. Bistro Noodle & Grill in August 2008, bringing their authentic Vietnamese cuisine to Humble with cultural and family recipes.

The backstory

Huynh and Vo grew up in the restaurant business with their family-owned restaurant in Vietnam.

“My parents owned their first noodle pho house in Saigon in the early 1980s, and they always taught and encouraged us to become business owners ourselves,” Huynh said. “We started cooking and learning the business at a very young age.”

After school, Huynh and Vo—who were 8 and 14 years old, respectively—routinely assisted their parents in the restaurant business. With their parents' support, they moved to the U.S. in the late 1980s with the intention of opening their own restaurant.

The two sisters studied business and accounting, and used their experience in their family restaurant business to open their own restaurant with their eldest sister, Derri Huynh, as the chef.

V. Bistro Noodle & Grill offers customers a fast-service Vietnamese cuisine-style restaurant for lunch and dinner. Huynh said the restaurant has regular customers who have remained loyal to due to their fast and efficient service, which is ideal for their busy customers who crave a warm meal during lunch.

The restaurant specializes in pho and grilled meats made from three generations of family recipes. Menu item favorites include the beef pho, vermicelli, banh mi and grilled meats, including pork, chicken, beef and shrimp. V. Bistro Noodle & Grill also offers milk teas and smoothies with boba, coffee and flavored ice tea.

Staying local

Additionally, V. Bistro Noodle & Grill offers catering services and discounts to veterans, law enforcement and educators. Huynh said she is grateful to the restaurant's customers who have remained loyal throughout the years and ensures “great food and customer service” to new customers.

“We want to thank the community that supports us,” Huynh said. “Everyone who visits our restaurant will be treated like family.”

After 15 years of running the restaurant together, Vo opened a second restaurant location in Conroe in mid-October.
