The Trails, a 1,373-acre master-planned community in the Lake Houston area, is advancing into its next stage of development with the construction of showcase model homes, development officials announced in a Jan. 16 news release.

Located near the Grand Parkway and Plum Grove Road, the community has five builders constructing new model homes:The Trails will have over 2,000 homesites, according to the release, and an amenity village with:
  • Pools
  • Playgrounds
  • Splash pads
  • Seating areas
  • Food truck spaces
  • Winding pathways within a park-like setting

“The start of construction of our model homes signifies the beginning of what promises to be a vibrant and dynamic community minutes from employment centers,” said Tiffany McMillan of Castle Hill Partners—developer of The Trails—in a statement.

What’s next


The five new models, along with the community’s first move-in ready homes, are scheduled for completion by this spring, according to the release. Completion of boulevards and streets, initiation of work on entry monuments and an expansion of Plum Grove Road are also underway.

Officials noted land is reserved for a future elementary school, and undeveloped space is reserved for nature trails and outdoor activities.
