By the end of 2023, Comcast/Xfinity will be expanding its new 10G internet network into Kingwood and in other areas of Southeast Texas soon after, according to a Feb. 21 news release from Comcast.

This $100 million push will include the installation of 1,000 miles of “new fiber-rich highways” that will provide almost 24,000 Kingwood homes and businesses with access.

“Southeast Texas’ rural and suburban communities have been growing fast, and we are building out our next-generation Comcast network in tandem with the growth. We will continue to expand to even more rural communities in the next few years,” said Ralph Martinez, who serves as Comcast’s senior regional vice president of Texas, in a statement.

Construction has already begun for the Kingwood portion of this project. The initiative will provide network access to 80,000 total homes and businesses across Kingwood, New Caney, Pinehurst, Prairie View, Waller and Conroe.
