What began with selling graphic T-shirts on social media and participating in local pop-up markets grew into The Rowdy Chick, a brick-and-mortar boutique in Downtown Humble. Named to represent her outgoing, fearless spirit, Ortiz said the clothing boutique opened in December 2024.
Staying local
Offering affordable casual women's clothing with a blend of "feminine pink energy," Ortiz said what she enjoys most about her business is the community aspect.
With humble beginnings at local pop-up markets, such as the New Caney Community Market and Houston Farmers Market, Ortiz said she continues to participate in local events such as the Good Oil Days Festival in Humble and has even helped to create several community events.
“I've worked with the city to create events down here, so all of the Sip & Shops and Kids Day in the Park—I started those,” Ortiz said.

A former Cypress resident, Ortiz said she moved to the Humble area five years ago to start a family with her partner, Mitchell Manyk. Since moving, Ortiz said she has become a true Humble resident.
“I've always been a very active community member, or so I thought, as far as volunteering or getting involved in what I can be, and when I opened the storefront, I did it with community in mind,” Ortiz said. “But once we opened ... the amount of community support that we received was a life-changing thing. It changed my whole spirit.”
Looking ahead, customers can look forward to her partner Manyk’s wine lounge—Main Street Hub—which he plans to open next door to The Rowdy Chick in January to further bridge the gap between business and community.

Ortiz said when selecting pieces for her boutique, she does it with affordable prices in mind to offer the community a variety of affordable, comfortable, and chic, elegant pieces.
“I always like to have multiple available options so everybody has the opportunity to shop,” Ortiz said.

Ortiz said at The Rowdy Chick, customers can find pieces that reflect her own style as a businesswoman, mother and active community member.
