Entergy Texas announced on Oct. 7 that David Borde has been named its new president and CEO, succeeding Eliecer Viamontes, who left the company for other opportunities, according to a news release. The change was effective Oct. 5.
“Eli has been a tremendous leader and a great colleague, and his many years of experience will serve him well in this next chapter,” Entergy Chair and CEO Drew Marsh said in a statement.

Borde joined Entergy in 2009 and served as the director of corporate development based in Texas. He later served as Entergy’s vice president of investor relations and in various leadership roles, according to the news release.
As vice president of utility strategy and regulatory initiatives, he has supported Entergy’s operating companies, with a focus on allowing the organization to keep pace with evolving customer needs and expectations, according to the news release.
Borde's previous experience included working in the investment banking division of Citigroup USA and practicing as a lawyer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University’s School of Law in 2001 and holds a degree in business from the University of Paris, according to Entergy.
Entergy serves portions of Texas including Montgomery County and a small part of Harris County, according to information on its website. It has headquarters in The Woodlands and Beaumont.
