Live music, science, sports and more: 9 things to do in Katy this weekend, Feb. 9-11

Katy will have a wet weekend coming up, but that’s no reason to shutter the windows and stay home. Katy has several events to enjoy this weekend, from live music to soccer workshop and a craft show. Here are nine things we think Katy residents might enjoy this weekend:

Thursday

1. Science Night at Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream

The dessert parlor will be hosting a night dedicated to science lovers with a sweet tooth, with science demonstrations each hour using liquid nitrogen. 6-8 p.m. Free. 2918 W. Grand Morton Parkway N., Katy. 832-729-9981. www.subzeroicecream.com

2. Leo Mendoza performs live at Mo’s Irish Pub-Katy

3. Tukas Academy Soccer Clinic for girls

4. Chad Cooke Band at The Wildcatter Saloon

5. Food Truck Friday at Cane Island

6. Domination Zone Wrestling ThunderZtruck

Saturday and Sunday

7. Heart of Katy Craft Show at Katy High School

Get started on Valentines Day shopping or just pick up something for yourself at the craft show. A variety of vendors will feature handcrafted items and Valentines Day and Saint Patrick’s Day items will be available. A portion of the proceeds supports Katy Bengal Brigade and Cheerleaders. 8. Couples 9 & Dine golf tournament
