Katy ISD announced the new principals for Bryant and McRoberts elementary schools, according to a June 30 press release.

Ashley Pierce is the new principal for Bryant Elementary School, and Kelly Stroud is the new principal of McRoberts Elementary School.

Pierce started her career in 2007 as an elementary school math and science teacher in Fort Bend ISD, the press release said. In 2013, she became a math specialist and instructional coach before moving to KISD as assistant principal at Katy Elementary School in 2016.

“I’m honored to have been named the new principal of Bryant Elementary School,” Pierce said in the press release. “It’s an incredible opportunity to lead such an amazing school community rooted in kindness and caring.”

Stroud started his teaching career in 1995 as an elementary school teacher at Nottingham County Elementary School, the press release said. After 10 years of teaching at the elementary school level, Stroud became a teacher and coach at Mayde Creek Junior High School in 2005.

In 2009, Stroud moved to WoodCreek Junior High School as an assistant principal before becoming an assistant principal at Taylor High School in 2015.

“I’m thrilled to lead the PME community as the new principal,” Stroud said in the press release. “I look forward to working collaboratively with our staff, volunteers and families to build on the foundation of success at McRoberts.”
