District officials and the KISD board of trustees celebrated the beginning of a comprehensive renovation at Memorial Parkway Junior High School with a ceremony March 8. The renovation includes adding classrooms, and renovating the existing library, administration, clinic, kitchen and commons space. It also includes upgrading the school’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

The renovation project is estimated to cost $27.9 million and is scheduled for completion in August 2018.

The project is being funded by the district’s 2014 bond package.
