Katy residents looking to have a good time at Katy Sip n Stroll on Nov. 3 will need to get to get their tickets soon—if they have not yet—because the event may sell out.
That’s according to Constance McDerby, the founder and co-producer of Food & Vine Time Productions, which is hosting the event at Villagio Town Center to raise money for The Ballard House, a Cinco Charities Community. She said there will be between 1,800 and 2,000 people attending the festival, and the event is “on tract to sell out.”
At the Katy Sip n Stroll, attendees can try food from about 30 restaurants, wine from roughly 25 different wineries and beer from nearly 10 breweries,
according to the event’s website.
Additionally, the food and wine festival will have three live music acts, a balloon sculpture, a magician, a live cooking demonstration and handwriting analysis, McDerby said. There will also be silent and live auctions and a wine pull.
Tickets for the event start at $15 for a designated driver general admission ticket and go as high as $65 for the VIP experience. Tickets can be purchased online at
www.sipandstroll.com/Tickets.shtml or at the door if it is not sold out. Guests under the age of 21 are not allowed to attend.
The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m., though VIP guests can get in at 5 p.m. Villagio Town Center is located within Cinco Ranch at 22762 Westheimer Pkwy., Katy.
The first Katy Sip N Stroll was held in 2010, and about 600 people attended, McDerby said. To date the event has raised $250,000 for The Ballard House. A representative from the home said that most of the money from the event is used to maintain and run the home for guests.
Currently, the 20,00-square-foot Ballard House offers 24 suites for medical patients undergoing treatment in the West Houston region and needing free, temporary housing. The house at 21421 Cinco Park Road, Katy, flooded during Hurricane Harvey
but reopened in January after four months of repairs and 14 fundraisers.
An additional 16 suites will open in early 2019, the representative said.
