In a nutshell
The center will widen the hospital’s footprint in the Fulshear area and be the second in the hospital system to incorporate a technology-focused design, according to a news release from the hospital.
“Our new comprehensive care center will change the way people access care, making it easier, faster and more patient-focused than ever before. From routine checkups to specialized treatments, it’s all here—right in the heart of the community,” Stephen Spielman, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Houston Methodist Physician Organization, said in the release. The details
According to the release, the 65,000-square-foot building will offer:
- Primary care and same-day clinic appointments
- Specialized care services such as orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, urology and rheumatology
- Imaging and lab services
- Physical therapy services
The center is part of a combined $247 million expansion effort in the Katy area announced in late August. In addition to the Fulshear-area center, Houston Methodist West Hospital will add a new emergency room observation unit, more operating rooms, more ER space and neonatal intensive care unit beds through its $185 million investment.
The projects will also create roughly 300 health care jobs in the Katy area by 2030, hospital officials previously said.
