There were 644 homes sold in seven local ZIP codes in July versus 695 for the same month last year. However, it was more than in May, which saw 631 homes sold.
Five of seven local ZIP codes saw the number of homes sold decline year over year, with the biggest decrease in ZIP code 77094 with a 36.36% decline. ZIP code 77493 was the most active ZIP code, with 201 homes sold.
Of the total 644 homes sold, homes in the $250,000-$449,999 price range sold the most frequently, with 346 homes sold.Despite fewer home sales than last year, the median home sales price increased in six out of seven ZIP codes.
The highest year-over-year increase was in ZIP code 77094, near the Energy Corridor. This ZIP code also had the highest median home sales price at $705,000.Meanwhile, the average number of days homes spent on the market increased in six of seven ZIP codes. Homes sold quickest in ZIP code 77494, in the southwest quadrant of the Katy area, with an average of 26 days on the market. Homes spent the longest on the market in ZIP code 77094 in the Energy Corridor.
