Another Shipley Do-Nuts is coming to the Houston area, this time in the Elyson community that borders Katy and Cypress.

The details

Franchise owner Don Longhofer said the donut shop is being built on Elyson Exchange Way, near Freeman Road. Longhofer said he estimates this location will be open by this summer.

According to the project filing information from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the new Shipley Do-Nuts will occupy a 1,480-square-foot space, with construction costing approximately $300,000.

On the menu


The first Shipley Do-Nuts opened in Houston in the mid-1940s, per the company's website. In addition to handcrafted donuts and kolaches made every day, Shipley's also serves hot and iced coffee, and pastries such as cinnamon rolls and apple fritters.
