Online pet retailer Chewy is expanding its services by adding vet care offices across the nation, including one in Katy, officials confirmed.

What they offer

Chewy Vet Care will bring its veterinary services for dogs and cats to a 3,002-square-foot location in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, according to an Aug. 26 news release from LaCenterra.

According to Chewy’s website, services will include:
  • Routine appointments
  • Urgent care
  • Vaccinations
  • Dental procedures
  • Surgery
The business will also offer care plans for purchase, where guests will be able to receive unlimited visits with no exam fees and priority schedule, according to its website.

What they’re saying

The practice aims to provide quality veterinary services for patrons and their pets, Chewy Health President Mita Malhotra said in the December announcement.

“Expanding into veterinary care is the natural next step in Chewy’s evolution, and we are excited to bring our customer-forward thinking to our veterinarians and practice team,” she said.

Zooming out

Chewy opened its first six vet care locations in 2024 across three states, including Georgia, Colorado and Florida, according to its website. Additional locations are set to open in Texas in the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas.

Beyond its vast storefront of pet supplies, Chewy also offers pharmacy services, pet insurance and online vet consultations.
