Parents looking for a center to care for their young children have a new option in Katy.

What parents need to know

Lightbridge Academy, an early education child care center, opened its first Houston location in Katy with over 200 child care spots. The company offers spots for infants to those 6 years old, Katy Center Director Theresa Costantini said in an email.

“Recognizing a growing demand for high-quality educational child care services in Katy and the Greater Houston area, we then evaluated the existing child care options in the area and identified gaps in the market,” Costantini said.

What else?

Meanwhile, Lightbridge Academy officials broke ground Feb. 29 on a second location at 3321 Peek Road, Katy, which will bring 226 more day care spots for the area, Community Impact reported. The second location is set to open in November or December.

“Our continued growth will enable Lightbridge Academy to meet the increasing demand for high-quality child care services and provide more families throughout the state with access to our circle of care,” Costantini said.
