What parents should know
Lightbridge Academy broke ground Feb. 29 for a second child care location in Katy, said Craig Murray, Lightbridge Academy chief development officer, in an email.
The new facility will have the capacity for 226 children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old and 30-35 full-time employees, Murray said.
The first Katy Lightbridge Academy opened in 2023 and is located at 1711 Spring Green Blvd., Ste. 900. Lightbridge Academy is an early education and child care franchise.

“Looking at the energy, defense and business sectors alone, the Katy and Greater Houston areas are growing rapidly,” Murray said. “We’re beginning to see more families flock to the city, so much so that [I-10] will be growing by multiple lanes. Our second Lightbridge Academy location is coming to Katy at the perfect time to provide new and existing families with high-quality early educational child care.”

With the need for more child care facilities across the state, Murray said there may also be capacity for additional locations throughout the Houston area.
