A new comprehensive wellness and nutrition center opened in early June inside the H-E-B located at 6711 S. Fry Road, just west of the Grand Parkway.

The H-E-B Wellness Primary Care Clinic is a full-service primary care for those age 12 and older, and manages illnesses through a “food as medicine approach,” according to a June 5 news release from the food retailer.

The clinic offers physical therapy, health and nutrition coaching, clinical pharmacists, specialty referrals and labs. Its staff are board-certified physicians, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, according to the release.

“For over a decade, H-E-B has offered high quality primary care services to its own partners (employees) and their families," said Lisa Helfman, senior public affairs director for H-E-B Houston, in a statement from the release. "Now we have the ability to provide a one-stop wellness destination for our customers with clinical primary care, nutrition services and pharmacy services in addition to access to nutritious food—a combination that is critical to create a full continuum of care unlike anything else that exists in health care today.”

H-E-B has also opened clinics in Cypress and Bunker Hill, and plans to open two more by the end of June in Spring and northwest Houston.

The clinic accepts cash, credit and flexible spending account payments.
