Cy-Hope, a Cypress-based nonprofit benefiting underserved children, teachers and school districts, is hosting a Katy Block Party at the Katy location of its resale clothing store. Special guests include Alchemy Bake Lab, Scholars and Scoundrels, Brookshire Brothers, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Barkley Books, the Cy-Hope STEM bus, and Crew Lemonade Stand. This event is kid centered.

June 25: Take a gravel bike ride

Cool Cat Cycles is hosting a gravel bike ride for anyone who is new to the area, just got a gravel bike or wants to learn to ride gravel. Seasoned riders who are looking for more recreational or endurance miles can also attend. The bike ride is 20 miles at a speed of 12-14 mph. Riders are recommended to bring a bike with wide and cushy tires, such as a hardtail mountain bike or hybrid.June 28: Get wined and dined

Enjoy a date night-themed event at South African and Latin restaurant Astor Farm to Table. This event features a three-course dinner and a complimentary bottle of South African wine selected by the chef as a perfect pairing with the meal.June 30: Sing karaoke

The Fulshear Katy Area Chamber is throwing a Freedom Fest, with food trucks, live music, vendor booths and a fireworks show. Kids are able to play in the designated children’s area.

July 6: Mix and mingle

This midweek networking event at Alicia’s Mexican Grille in Katy is hosted every first Thursday of the month and often features a guest speaker who teaches small-business tips. Attendees are encouraged to connect and share resources while enjoying a free drink and having fun.July 7: Stretch in the sun

Registered yoga instructor Samantha Walker will lead a yoga class at Central Green Park. With experience rooted in ashtanga vinyasa yoga, Walker aims to guide students inward and encourage them to listen to their bodies. Attendees must bring a mat, a towel and a bottle of water, and are encouraged to check with a doctor before participating in this exercise class. July 17: Listen to a story

Award-winning author Maria Boucher will tell stories in the park to children from toddlers to third-graders. This event at LaCenterra’s Central Green Park also features expressive songs and crafts to keep kids engaged.July 22: Attend a concert fundraiser

The Dos Borrachos concert will feature performances by musicians Kevin Fowler and Roger Creager. The Midsummer Fest will be at The Great Southwest Equestrian Center with proceeds benefiting Christ Clinic—a health care center that caters to the uninsured population in Fort Bend County. Parking is free with ticket purchase.
