Tokyo-based Rakkan Ramen is expected to open soon at 1321 N. Westgreen Blvd., Ste. 300, Katy. The restaurant’s Facebook page has yet to announce a grand opening date.

The new Katy location will be the third Rakkan Ramen in Houston, with the first two locations in the Houston Heights and Tomball areas.

Rakkan Ramen was founded in 2011 in Tokyo with its first overseas location opening six years later in Los Angeles. The restaurant serves entirely plant-based dashi broth, which its website touts as being a healthier alternative to meat-based ramen broths while maintaining the same rich flavors.

The Rakkan Ramen menu features many vegan options as well as bowls with crispy chicken, grilled pork, eggs and more.
