Local Realtors answer questions about trends and offer tips to homebuyers and sellers considering buying or selling a home in or around Spring and Klein.
What would improve a house’s appeal to homebuyers?
In resale homes, buyers are looking for homes to be updated, clean and move-in ready. Good curb appeal is important. On the interior of the home, buyers want homes that look and smell fresh and clean.
What are some things that could be done to the entryway of the house to give a better first impression?
Refinish your front door. Add a nice rug to the entryway. Add colorful plants to the front porch. Make sure the yard looks good, too.
What landscaping tips do you have for sellers?
Keep your yard manicured. Add fresh mulch to your flower beds, and plant colorful flowers to give your yard extra appeal. Trim overgrown trees and bushes. If you have a pool, be sure it is sparkling clean and that the area around the pool is tidy and neat.
What advice would you give to people who are selling their house in a competitive market?
Price your home appropriately up front. Work with a Realtor to derive a price that is right for the market. Monitor showing activity and feedback closely, and if need be, adjust your price sooner rather than later. There is more inventory out there than a year ago, so buyers have more to choose from. Your home must be priced right to stand out above the competition.
