Total home sales rose in three of five local ZIP codes covering the Heights, River Oaks and Montrose areas when comparing data from April 2024 to April 2023.

The April data breaks away from annual comparisons for the previous two months. Home sales were lower in four if five local ZIP codes in March as well as in February, when comparing those months to 2023.

Home sales were slightly lower in the 77008 ZIP code in April, while remaining flat with 2023 data in the 77098 ZIP code. The largest increase when comparing April 2024 with April 2023 was seen in the 77006 ZIP code, while the largest drop was seen in the 77098 ZIP code.Two local ZIP codes that saw increases in the total number of homes sold in April—77006 and 77019—also saw drops in the average number of days a home spends on the market when data is compared to April 2023.More than 100 of the 252 homes sold in the local area in April were sold within the $500,000-$749,999 price range.
