The first Houston location of Tin Drum Asian Kitchen opened in the Heights in August at 1111 Shepherd Drive, Ste. 100, Houston, according to an Aug. 7 news release. The eatery was first announced for the Shepherd Drive site in November 2021.
The Hong Kong-inspired restaurant offers a variety of stir-fries, street snacks, wok-tossed noodles and wings, soups, and ramen. The dishes are a mix of Chinese, Sichuan, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and Korean cuisines and are made to order in an open kitchen, according to the release.
Tin Drum’s new 2,200-square-foot space seats 50 and includes a patio. Restaurant officials said they were looking to create a dining experience reminiscent of a curbside cafe in Asia, with a colorful interior featuring art, graffiti and neon lights.
Wok-tossed chicken wings come in nine flavors, including sesame to orange pepper. Guests can also opt for vegetarian options, such as tempura cauliflower, wok-tossed tofu and wok-tossed veggie.
