Hotel Saint Augustine is Bunkhouse Hotels first Houston concept, and is located in the heart of the Montrose neighborhood adjacent to the Menil Collection campus.
The boutique hotel boasts 71 rooms and suites, an all-day lobby lounge, listening room and in intimate event space, as well as a destination restaurant and a courtyard pool.
Guests can dine at Perseid, an all-day restaurant helmed by Houston chef Aaron Bludorn. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunches.
Perseid, along with the circular courtyard pool, will open in mid-January to mark the hotel's official grand opening.More details
According to a Dec. 16 news release, the interior design of the hotel is a collaboration with Bunkhouse Hotel and Post Company, a New York- and Wyoming-based design studio.
The designers created the space to feel like one is "stepping into a private curator's home," and drew inspiration from surroundings such as the Menil's actual home and Houston itself.The hotel's outdoor landscape and architecture includes five small, two-story buildings spread across 2.2 acres, and is connected by open air bridges, winding outdoor pathways and lush gardens.One more thing
Bunkhouse currently operates six of its 10 hotels in Texas, including five in Austin and one in San Antonio. Hotel Saint Augustine marks the first hotel to open in Houston with the second, Hotel Daphne, anticipated to open in 2025 in the Heights neighborhood.
