After debuting his new coffee and cocktails concept in October at the Toyota Center, Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. now has plans to open new locations in the Washington Corridor and along Allen Parkway.

Maven Coffee + Cocktails was founded by McCullers and entrepreneurs Juan Carlos Martinez de Aldecoa and Blake Fertitta, and it will be operated under Rex Hospitality. A new location will open in December within the Thompson Houston Hotel, located at 1717 Allen Parkway, Houston, according to a Nov. 1 news release. It will be open to the public in addition to hotel guests.

The first brick-and-mortar location of the concept will open in the first quarter of 2024 in Silver Street Studios, 2000 Edwards St., Houston. Plans for this location include operating it as an "upscale lounge" during the evenings, serving light bites, according to the release.

Maven offers specialty coffee drinks—such as carajillos, frozen espresso martinis and cold brews—as well as craft cocktails, such as gin and tonics, Tajin-rimmed margaritas and old fashioneds. Another location exists within Minute Maid Park.

In addition to the coffees and cocktails, the Thompson hotel and Silver Street Studios locations will also offer pastries and coffee concentrate available for purchase wholesale.
