A new craft beer taproom and cp-op will soon open in the Lazybrook/Timbergrove area that will be jointly run by a pair of local breweries.

A soft opening began for Craft Culture X on Sept. 2, and a grand opening is being planned for Oct. 21, officials confirmed with Community Impact. Found at 7201 Wynnpark Drive, Houston, Craft Culture X is a project from the Black- and Latino-owned For the Culture Brewing Co. and the women-owned Ovinnik Brewing.

Plans for Ovinnik were announced in 2021, and officials at the time said they planned to offer Belgian-style beers, including tripels, witbiers and sours, but the offerings would also be informed in part by customer feedback. Plans for Craft Culture X involve serving a variety of beer styles, such as India pale ales, pale ales, stouts, witbiers and English pub ales. Styles will rotate every few weeks, and the venue will also offer 5-ounce tasting flights.

During the soft opening, Craft Culture X is open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon-9 p.m.
