Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital, a $116 million, 250,000-square-foot addition to the health care system’s medical campus in the city, is projected to open in March, according to officials.

The facility, which is the second hospital in Pearland, will have capacity for 64 beds with infrastructure in place to expand to 128 beds if needed, said Mario Garner, Pearland Hospital senior vice president and CEO.

Garner said 350 employees will work at Pearland Hospital, located off Hwy. 288.

“I am truly honored to serve the community of Pearland and excited for the growth that lies ahead,” he said. “This is a chance to make a difference in the community by expanding Memorial Hermann’s presence in Pearland, inclusive of quality inpatient care, improved access to physician specialists and clinical expertise. Additionally, we are not just building a hospital but also establishing a culture for superior quality health care as well as service to the community.”

Upon completion, Memorial Hermann’s 40-acre medical campus in Pearland will also include a Life Flight helipad and additional medical office building, according to officials. The site features a convenient care center that opened in February 2014.
