The Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees approved a $127 million contract award to build High School No. 11 during the Sept. 15 board meeting.

Satterfield and Pontikes Construction was selected for the contract, which includes the construction of the main and common buildings for the high school. The new campus is set to open for the 2016–17 school year and will be on a multischool site at the northwest corner of FM 529 and Westgreen Boulevard.

The campus will be constructed with money from the 2007 bond authorization, which called for a new high school to open in time for the 2010-11 school year, said Roy Sprague, associate superintendent for facilities, construction and support services. Due to the state budget shortfall at the time, the opening date was pushed back several years.

"If you looked at the price we projected in 2007 and pushed inflation rate, our projected costs are right on target based on the inflationary market," Sprague said. "We feel like we're getting a good price."

A majority of the work done by Satterfield and Pontikes is construction on K-12 schools, including four previous major campus renovations for CFISD.
