Officials with local nonprofit Cy-Hope are seeking volunteers for a food distribution event Sept. 4 for Cy-Fair families.

The event, organized by the Houston Food Bank, will take place at Lone Star College-CyFair on Barker Cypress Road and will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. or until all food has been distributed. Volunteers are needed to help lift and load food supplies as families arrive to collect food. Shifts are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Volunteers must be age 14 or older, and any volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The food distribution is open to all families, and no restrictions or documentation will be required, according to Cy-Hope.

Gloves will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring their own masks or face coverings. Additional details will be provided to all registered volunteers via email on the afternoon of Sept. 3.

Registration can be done online. Questions can be directed to Cy-Hope officials at 713-466-4673 or [email protected].
