Updated Sept. 1 at 10:24 a.m.  Cy-Fair ISD has opened the Berry Center at 8877 Barker Cypress Road, Cypress, as a temporary flood relief shelter. More than 200 individuals stayed overnight and more flood victims are scheduled to continue arriving throughout the day, officials said. As of Wednesday night, the facility will accept the following donations from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday through Sunday: school supplies, adult diapers, baby diapers, baby formula, baby food, bottles, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, feminine products, bar soap, lotion, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, shaving cream, razors, Q-tips, bandages, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, socks, new underwear, nail clippers, gallon-size resealable plastic bags, cleanup bucket items, five-gallon buckets with resealable lids, sponges, scrub brushes, cleaning towels, household cleaner, disinfectant dish soap, disinfectant cleaners, trash bags, SOS pads, laundry detergent, brooms, dust pans, mops, dog and cat food, dog and cat crates. Many are in need of volunteers to help support victims as well as supplies.
