Officials with HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress announced Aug. 22 plans for a new $100 million patient tower. Construction is already underway and is set to be completed in spring 2026, according to a news release.

The project will bring the hospital’s total licensed bed count to 216.

The overview

The new addition to the hospital’s campus will include:
  • An expanded Central Sterile Processing Department
  • A 22-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit offering specialized care for those recovering following surgery, injury or illness
  • A 31-bed Medical Surgical Unit offering space for patients requiring medical and surgical care, and allowing for further expansion of the existing facility’s critical care services
  • Expanded parking facilities
According to the release, HCA Healthcare has reinvested over $200 million in the community since acquiring the hospital in 2018.

Meanwhile, Healthcare Realty is modernizing nearly 300,000 square feet of medical office space in the two professional buildings located on campus. This project is about a $30 million investment, officials said.

What they’re saying

"We are thrilled to announce the construction of our new patient tower," hospital CEO Jim Brown said in the release. "With 18 years of service to the Cypress area, we are excited to expand to continue to meet the health care needs of this rapidly growing community."
