Senate Avenue Brewing Co. won a silver medal at the 2023 Texas Craft Brewers Cup for its House of Lords brew in the Class UK Styles category. An awards ceremony took place at the Texas Craft Brewers Guild’s annual meeting in Austin on Feb. 11.

“I was so excited to hear our brewery’s name called at the award ceremony,” Head Brewer Adam Millard, who created the House of Lords recipe, said in a statement. “The Best Bitter style is a favorite of mine as it exudes a biscuit-like maltiness rather than a caramel flavor that you find in other malty beers.”

Out of the 852 beer entries judged, 54 breweries across the state earned awards in 27 medal categories, according to a news release.

Located at 16000 Dillard Drive, Ste. F, Jersey Village, the small-batch brewery is owned by former Jersey Village Mayor Andrew Mitcham and his wife, Michelle, who currently serves on the Jersey Village City Council.

Senate Avenue Brewing Co. features a rotating selection of craft beer as well as wines, seltzers and nonalcoholic beverages; a full-service kitchen serves up burgers, pizzas, wings, tacos and salads. The brewery is also family-friendly and hosts weekly events such as trivia nights and puzzle races.
